Overview

Lucayan Technology Solutions is seeking Architecture Consultant to provide architectural guidance and support for the design and implementation of Microsoft 365 (M365) solutions. Multiple positions are available. These roles will focus on ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant while meeting business and IRS-specific requirements. The ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in M365 architecture, cloud solutions, and federal or large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Design, implement, and optimize Power Platform environments and deployment pipelines.
  • Develop architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for M365 solutions.
  • Advise project teams on integration, configuration, and optimization of M365 tools, including Power Platform, Azure, Exchange, Intune, and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IRS SMEs to align solutions with business objectives and IRS-specific compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, and technical design artifacts.
  • Provide guidance on security, scalability, and maintainability of cloud-based M365 solutions.
  • Support technical decision-making and serve as a subject matter expert on M365 architecture.

Required Qualifications
 
  • Minimum 5 years of IT architecture experience, with a focus on Microsoft 365 and Power Platform in large enterprise or federal government environments.
  • Experience supporting federal government clients or environments with high compliance and security requirements; IRS experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and related cloud services.
  • Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and technical diagramming.
  • Ability to work in a remote, compliance-focused federal environment.

Security Clearance & Training Requirements
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
  • Must complete all IRS-required security, privacy, and compliance training.
  • Must adhere to federal cybersecurity and organizational protocols.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Microsoft certifications such as:
    • Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
    • Power Platform Solution Architect
  • Experience leading architecture reviews or technical advisory boards.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance and security frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and Zero Trust.
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams.

Work Environment
 
  • Fully remote position with collaboration across technical teams, project staff, and IRS SMEs.
  • Fast-paced, compliance-driven environment requiring adherence to federal standards and best practices.
  • May involve occasional after-hours support for deployments or critical architectural decisions.
  • Requires ownership of deliverables, strong communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
