Job Summary
Lucayan Technology Solutions is seeking a highly capable Network Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to support the 6th Medical Group (6 MDG) at MacDill Air Force Base under a U.S. Air Force medical IT support contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of enterprise network and system components supporting mission-critical healthcare IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and manage routers, switches, wireless access points, and other infrastructure equipment.
Conduct daily on-site infrastructure health checks before 0700 to ensure operational readiness.
Maintain and update routing tables, operating systems, security patches, and system upgrades.
Administer virtual and physical servers, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance.
Perform log analysis, backup/restoration, patch management, and system recovery.
Respond to critical outages within 15 minutes and resolve them within 2 hours; complete workorders per SLA.
Use DHA ServiceNow and AFNET Remedy to track, triage, and close service tickets.
Control and monitor user access to network resources and manage permissions.
Implement DoD cybersecurity directives (STIGs, ACAS scans, TCNOs) and maintain vulnerability compliance index ≤ 3.
Conduct system-level design, configuration, and integration projects aligned with PWS-defined objectives.
Coordinate with vendors and elevate unresolved issues to government leads.
Perform testing and integration of system modifications and ensure compatibility with Air Force and DHA standards.
Support after-hours upgrades and maintenance without impacting healthcare service delivery.
Work Environment & Access
• On-site daily at 3250 Zemke Ave, MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL 33621.
• Must comply with AFOSH (Air Force Occupational Safety and Health) regulations.
• Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC) and meet Air Force installation access requirements.
• Access to controlled/restricted areas may be required based on mission scope.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT networks and systems.
Experience with: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, subnetting, static/dynamic routing (OSPF/EIGRP).
Tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, ACAS.
Windows and Linux server administration.
Understanding of the OSI model, firewalls, and secure tunneling (SSH, HTTPS).
Ability to analyze and interpret logs, system errors, and performance data.
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Microsoft MCSA/MCSE
ITIL v4 Foundation
Nice to Have
• Prior experience supporting DoD healthcare IT environments (SGSL/SGSI/SGN).
